In 2017, the state deemed the land unsafe and toxic, declaring the evacuation of all 300+ homes in this neighborhood. The tenants were all kicked out, whether they wanted to leave or not. A fence was put around the property and as time moved on outside those fences, the now empty community just sits frozen in time. Nature is now reclaiming this community as her own, overgrown walkways and cracked streets. Today we walk around this once thriving community where many people grew up and spent 40+ years here from when it was first constructed.
