THIS PLACE FREAKED ME OUT ☢️ RADIOACTIVE HOTEL IN PORTUGAL

We go exploring Portugal and end up in the village of Sortelha. It was amazing there but several times we said, 'This place freaks me out'.
The ancient village was well preserved and listed as a tourist attraction, but even on a weekend there was almost nobody there. We spent ages exploring the castle walls and stone cobbled streets and had a picnic. There were multiple occasions when we felt vertigo climbing the castle walls and steps with no safety barriers to protect you from a nasty fall. But we liked that! It made it exciting and real.
When we finished in Aldeia Sortelha we visited Hotel Serra da Pena, also known as Hotel Águas de Radium or Termas de Águas Radium (which means Radium Waters Spa Hotel). This place also freaked us out a little. An amazing building left abandoned in the hills of Guarda Portugal because of it's radioactive past. We found out about it through a young Portuguese blogger couple who write for http://www.heartofeverywhere.com/hotel-aguas-radium-radioactivity/?lang=en . Even though it was a little freaky we had an amazing time there. It was fascinating!
