Santiago de Compostela | We didn´t do the Camino | spend a weekend with us to see what it´s like!

For Helen´s Christmas present, I (Andy) arranged a trip to Santiago de Compostela, the capital of the Galicia region in the north of Spain.

We aren´t religious, and didn´t do the Camino- we simply wanted to explore another of Spain´s ancient cities.
We saw the sights, did the tourist train (save your money and time!) and ate plenty!
Home of the empanada, or empanadia (depends on where you look/ references), we tried various tapas, several bars and restaurants (the area is known for it´s seafood) and even managed a few cheeky cocktails.

Travel with us to give you a better idea as to whether a weekend in this city is for you! (We didn´t take any excursions out of the city)

Our base was the "Cathedral Suites"- it gave us a really good view of the city & cathedral. We even managed to get into the Cathedral without paying- see how we did that along with everything else!
