Storyline:
A down-on-his-luck ex-G.I. finds himself a suspect in an armored car robbery. When he's finally released after the real robbery vehicle is found, after having been worked-over by the police, he sets out to discover who set him up, and why. The trail leads him into Mexico and a web of hired thugs and a corrupt cop.

"This is a masterful thriller with a very intelligent and intricate plot, which you will wonder about till the bitter end, when finally everything is cleared by death. John Payne makes a very convincing and admirable role of the innocent man selling flowers who gets framed, and among the hoodlums there is a very young Lee van Cleef, who is already fully fledged and would repeat this character for a number of decades with equal success. There is hardly a noir with a more dramatic introduction to the drama, which will remain hanging in suspense for the rest of the film. Mexico will provide no relief but only a series of settlements, not without fisticuffs and gunfire. The music is also excellent and adds impact to this amazing criminal drama of advanced Moriarty kind of intrigue."
