How Expensive is Costa Rica? | Travel Budget for 2 Weeks

I was in Costa Rica a bit over two weeks as a solo traveller. Just how much did that cost? In this video I go through the complete cost of the entire trip.

I divided the budget into five sections:

- Getting to Costa Rica (flights, ESTA, tests)
- Accommodations (hotels and hostels)
- Activities (everything from canyoning to rain forest hikes and diving)
- Transportation inside Costa Rica (shared shuttles, airplane, taxis, etc)
- Eating and drinking (not the biggest expense but not insignificant either)

I also list a total summary of the entire trip. How much was the total in the end? Well, you'll just have to watch the video to see, right? But let's just say that my wallet was whimpering a bit.

Aside from the five categories listed, I also added an Extra section to my travel budget. That's because of a flight delay which caused an extra overnight at Miami, and re-booking a lot of transports at an additional cost. I've filed for compensation from Finnair, but they are - of course - ignoring it completely (boo! boo!). Just so you know.
