Hong Kong's economy, culture, and political landscape have been topics of international interest and discussion. The "one country, two systems" principle allows Hong Kong to maintain a high degree of autonomy, including its legal and economic systems, for 50 years after the handover from British to Chinese rule in 1997. So, this arrangement is expected to continue until at least 2047.After 2047 hong kong may be part of China itself.
