First international trip is always a special feeling, you feel excited, you feel energetic but you feel nervous too. Can’t tell you about you guys but I was definitely very anxious before boarding the flight. This was the first time I was travelling to a whole new country and that too solo, I was feeling like I am taking a very big stride & going to do something big, something courageous.
So here I am sharing some of my learning’s from my experience which I think can help you guys.
- While travelling abroad, definitely there will be many documents and papers. So, what I did was, I created a file and a checklist of all the imp documents and started arranging like that, in this way I can narrowed it down to essentials which I need to carry.
- Travel adapter was very useful during my trip because there were times when the plugs were just for phone chargers and I couldn’t charge my laptop, so this adapter came to my rescue, hence I would highly suggest you to buy one, you can easily find one on Amazon.
- Research is one of my favourite things while planning a trip, I do a lot of research and this is one of the reasons I don’t feel bogged down and get panic at a new place, I feel nervous at times but highly confident that I can pull this off. Research will make you more aware of the place and it will definitely help you plan your trip better, save money and time.
- when you withdraw money from ATM in foreign land, there is a surplus charge known as transaction charge on top of the money and generally it’s on higher side. So @go_niyo helped me a lot, I used to pay through this card most of the time and saved my cash. There app has a beautiful interface where everything is clearly mentioned. You can know the real time conversion rate, you can check the transactions, you can set the currency in the app as your destination country, and the most important feature, there is no forex charges on any transaction. Imo, this card is the best companion while travelling abroad.
