Liverpool told they'll have to pay €65m for the next Luis Suarez

Liverpool have been linked with Benfica's Darwin Nunez in recent weeks but reports from Portugal claim his price to pry him away from Lisbon will be €65m.

Darwin Nunez is one of the hottest prospects in world football at the moment. The 22-year-old has been linked to a multitude of top European clubs over the past few months.

Last week, Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool side were linked with a potential move for the Uruguayan as they look to start replacing their original front three, according to Football Insider.

Now, a report from Portuguese publication O Jogo, as cited by Sport Witness, has claimed that Liverpool are going to have to pay a hefty price if they want to bring Nunez to Anfield.

O Jogo claim that the 22-year-old would cost more than Luis Diaz, who Liverpool signed for a reported fee of £40m in the January transfer window.

According to the report, Benfica would want €65m to let the Uruguayan depart from Lisbon in the upcoming transfer window.

Darwin Nunez is absolutely flying at the moment. He is currently the top goal scorer in the Primeira Liga with 20 goals, six goals ahead of the second-highest scorer, Luis Diaz.

So far, Liverpool's most recent signing from the Portuguese League has been a massive success. If Liverpool were to sign another talent from Portugal then it would be a very welcome addition to the squad, especially since he is only 22-years-old and looks to be the next big superstar.

Reports are still appearing that Jurgen Klopp's side are still interested in another attacking player, with the likes of Leeds United's Raphinha and West Ham United's Jarrod Bowen still being linked, even after signing Diaz.

Nunez would be a great addition. He's young, an amazing goalscorer, he can play up front and on the wings and he also has Champions League experience.

We'll have to wait and see if these reports come to fruition but it looks like Liverpool are set for a big summer transfer window.
