Edward Cotham bio

Edward T. Cotham is a graduate of The University of Texas Law School, The University of Chicago, and the University of Houston. Known as “Mr. Civil War Galveston” because of his many years as
a popular lecturer and battlefield guide in that city, Ed has appeared frequently on television and the radio to share his passion for the history of the Lone Star State. In addition to his work on land, Ed is a Texas Marine Steward and has served as project historian for several Civil War shipwrecks in Texas waters. When not researching and writing, Ed serves as Chief Financial Officer for the Terry Foundation of Houston, Texas. His books include: Juneteenth: The Story Behind the Celebration; Battle on the Bay: The Civil War Struggle for Galveston; Sabine Pass: The Confederacy’s Thermopylae; The Southern Journey of a Civil War Marine: The Illustrated Note-Book of Henry O. Gusley; A Busy Week in Texas: Ulysses S. Grant’s 1880 Visit to the Lone Star State.
