Contemporary discussion about Sino-American relations is often couched in language assuming war is inevitable, a fait accompli that is bound to happen at some point in the near to medium future. Informed by historical as well as modern geopolitical understanding, many have bought into the notion of the "Thucydides Trap", that rising vs declining powers are destined for conflict with one another. But is this really how things are going to turn out?

Using open source analysis, historical record and ongoing geopolitical discourse, this video examines the issue of the Thucydides Trap and the likelihood of a future Sino-American war.
