We spent 24 hours wandering around the southern city of Hat Yai. We found food, markets and beaches here.
After our 18 hour sleeper train from Bangkok we made a short stop in the city of Hat Yai. We wandered the city taking in the food and the markets before heading 45 minutes outside of the city to Samila beach in Songkhla city. We spent the day watching the local fishermen cast their nets, ate at a seaside cafe and just relaxed by the sea before heading back to Hat Yai.
Once back we walked around Kim Yong market and bought some dried snacks. Later we headed to Greenway night market where we tried a mango salad made by the most energetic Thai person we have met so far. Leanne had Katsu curry and we then took home some of the best fried chicken I have ever eaten.

Originally from the Wirral, North West England we got married in 2012. After a few trips abroad we caught the #travel bug. In 2019 after 6 weeks in Japan we decided we were going to quit our jobs and take some time out to travel full time. After many delays due to the pandemic, in 2021 our dream finally came true and in November we set off on our journey.
Tomorrow we travel to Koh Lipe, we are not sure how good the Wifi on the island will be so we may not be able to post a vlog this coming Wednesday. There will definitely be another vlog on Sunday though.
