Barra Beach
Located by the pontoon that marks the beginning of the Aveiro Port and the end of the estuary, Barra Beach is both spacious and has good conditions for a range of sports including surfing, bodyboarding, kite-surfing, sailing and sea fishing. Very popular among sunbathers, the area takes on a new life during the summer months with the entertainment continuing well into the night at the many bars and discos and during local festivals.
Right by the beach is the imposing Aveiro Lighthouse, built over a century ago and, at 62 metres in height is the tallest in Portugal.


Praia da Barra
Situada junto ao pontão que marca a entrada do Porto de Aveiro e onde desagua a Ria, a Praia da Barra possui um extenso areal e oferece boas condições para a prática de diversos desportos como o surf, bodyboard, kitesurf, vela e pesca desportiva. Muito procurada pelos banhistas, esta é uma zona bastante agitada durante o verão, com a animação a prolongar-se noite dentro, nos muitos bares e festas.
Junto à praia destaca-se o imponente Farol de Aveiro, construído há mais de um século e que com 62 metros de altura é o mais alto de Portugal.
