The Penedo Furado walkway allows the best access between the Fluvial Beach of Penedo Furado and the area of waterfalls. These run a distance of 532 linear meters and include a bridge at the end of the route and platforms for rest areas, with benches and belvederes.
The Footbridges of the Penedo Furado thus also make part of the several Pedestrian Paths of the place.

The characteristics of the rocky massif make the Fluvial Beach of Penedo Furado, quite wooded, an authentic paradise, offering a set of small waterfalls, visible to scarce meters, that can be appreciated when walking along a narrow path carved in the rock.

This is the most sought after resort in the municipality of Vila de Rei, not only because of its clear and crystalline water that slowly runs through the bed, through a natural passage in the rock, but also through the infrastructures.

This place is suitable for family programs, because the water has little depth. The beach is also highly sought after by campers.

The place allows the accomplishment of several sporting activities, such as trekking, climbing, rappel, slide or canoeing, being a multipurpose space of recreation and leisure. The water of this beach is classified in the last years as Good and / or Excellent.

In the highest area, there is a gigantic cliff with a large, tapered opening that gives its name to the beach, where the Belvedere of Penedo Furado was created, from where it is possible to admire the magnificent landscape of mountains and cliffs covered with pine forests, of the Codes, the dam of the Castle of Bode Dam and some houses of the surrounding towns.

On the right side of the belvedere, there is a niche with the image of Our Lady of the Paths, after which there is a lateral rail that allows to pass to the lower part of the boulder, and down to the fluvial beach, passing by the denominated "Bicha Pintada".

The "Bicha Pintada", located on the right bank of Ribeira do Codes, below the viewpoint of Penedo Furado, is a fossil that, according to some scholars, is believed to be more than 480 million years old, inserted in the top of a layer of quartzite dark gray, 30 cm thick.

Near the Belvedere of Penedo Furado, there is the Miradouro das Fragas do Rabadão, where there is a via-sacra and a small sanctuary, whose statues were offered by popular, from where you can appreciate the landscape to the bay of Castelo de Bode and where begins a trail confluent with the trail of the previous viewpoint, with connection to the "Bicha Pintada".

There is also the Builhiras Trail, a linear pedestrian path that culminates in the Penedo Furado River Beach and then leads through ancient and mysterious paths to the Bufareiras area, a place of unusual scenery, a result of the surrounding rocky massif, where several natural waterfalls are discovered, being one of the most emblematic places of the region and important tourist attraction of the county.

Penedo Furado is one of the most mystical places in the region. Myths, tales and legends that people passed from generation to generation are also part of the History of the Pierced Penedo and let the popular imagination ally itself with all the beauty of the surrounding space.
