Entre-os-rios is a small town belonging to the municipality of Penafiel, in the northern region of the country, since always, and as its name implies, influenced by its location of the confluence of the rivers Tâmega and Douro.
The Entre-os-Rios tragedy was an accident on 4 March 2001 and consisted of the collapse of the bridge, the accident resulting in the deaths of 59 people, including the passengers of a bus and three cars trying to reach the other bank of the river. Golden River.
In January 2003, next to the Entre-os-Rios Bridge, the monument to honor the victims was inaugurated, named “Angel of Portugal”, which includes the names of those who died in the accident.

A tragédia de Entre-os-Rios foi um acidente ocorrido a 4 de Março de 2001 e consistiu no colapso da Ponte, do acidente resultou a morte de 59 pessoas, incluindo os passageiros de um autocarro e três carros que tentavam alcançar a outra margem do rio Douro.
Em Janeiro de 2003, foi inaugurado o monumento de homenagem às vítimas, designado “Anjo de Portugal”, onde estão inscritos os nomes daqueles que morreram no acidente.
