Palestinians protesting the continued development of settlements were seen damaging an Israeli military drone as clashes between demonstrators and Israeli security forces broke out in Beita following Friday prayers.
According to local health authorities, around 51 Palestinians were injured, with tear gas and piled up rubber tires on fire filling up the area on Mount Sobaih. The protesters managed to catch one of the Israeli drones releasing tear gas canisters onto demonstrators.
"It is one message, the message of steadfastness and solidarity on this mountain. We will not leave Mount Sabih, nor will we leave our land to the settlers until, God willing, this Israeli occupier is expelled from this mountain," a protester named Abdul Ghani Dwikad remarked.
This comes as clashes between the two sides have increased recently over issues including Israeli settlements in the West Bank and the recaptured prisoners that escaped from Gilboa prison.

SOT, Abdul Ghani Dwikad, Participant (Arabic): "All this blood was spilled after 150 days of steadfastness and solidarity on this mountain as we continue the era of the martyrs and the covenant on which we left the martyrs from Prophet Jesus (PBUH) to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It is one message, the message of steadfastness and solidarity on this mountain. We will not leave Mount Sabih, nor will we leave our land to the settlers until, God willing, this Israeli occupier is expelled from this mountain."
SOT, Hudhayfa Badir, Participant (Arabic): "The message is clear from the popular and peaceful resistance to continue to reach Mount Sabih and the stolen lands. We are at the beginning of the olive picking season and we will convey to them the message that we are continuing and that the blood of the martyrs will not be in vain. The blood of the martyrs is poured out next to the olive trees to sprout freedom, dignity and pride in light of the continuation of this steadfastness from the people of Beita and the neighbouring villages."
